The PR-70 robotic palletizer is designed for single line operations where the customer desires a versatile, cost effective installation. It has a decided advantage over other palletizer designs where the floor space needs to be minimized.
The robot has 3 Cartesian servoelectric linear drives and can be tooled for a wide range of products. With multiple package pickup, it can accommodate line speeds of 20 cpm and higher.In the installation for which the robot shown was designed, the robot handles as many as 6 different electric panels, weighing as much as 64 pounds.
The pickup head has 4 pneumatic grippers that are passed down inside the interior lip of the panels, rotated 90 degrees, and retracted up against the lower side of the panel lip.
For some of the panels, the head, which has a pneumatic rotary actuator, rotates the panels 90 degrees while the load is enroute from the infeed conveyor to the pallet loading station. This feature facilitates the loading of a maximum number of panels on the pallets. |
